NEW: Saturday Youth Basketball Program  2022 

We are excited to announce that will will have a Saturday Youth Basketball Program starting in January! Four divisions will be offered:

·     3-4 Grade Girls

·     3-4 Grade Boys

·     5-6 Grade Girls

·     5-6 Grade Boys

Space is limited to 40 players per division. Children will be placed on a team and will play games on Saturdays at the McKinleyville Activity Center. No weekday practices will be scheduled. Spectators will not be permitted to attend games. Focus will be on skill development, sportsmanship and healthy competition. All Covid 19 Safety protocols will be in place for this program.

Dates:          January 15 - March 5 (No Games Feb. 26th)

Who:            Boys and Girls in 3rd-6th grade

Fee:             $85/$90 McKinleyville resident/non-resident

Registration: Opens Friday, November 19, 2021 (Registration Deadline: January 14th!)

For each division, four volunteer coaches and four volunteer assistant coaches are needed. Volunteer referee and scorekeeper positions are available. Contact Jens Andersen at 707-839-9003 or jens@mckinleyvillecsd.com if you are interested in becoming a volunteer for the Saturday Youth Basketball program. Saturdays January 15-March 5 (no games Feb. 26). Game times TBD. 

 

NEW: Youth Afterschool Basketball Program 2022

Drop off your child at the McKinleyville Activity Center for After School Basketball! The program will focus on skill development and learning the fundamentals of the game of basketball. Children will have a chance to shoot around socialize followed by games, drills, activities and scrimmages designed to give an opportunity for skill development in a non-competitive environment. All Covid 19 Safety protocols will be in place for this program.

Dates:          3-4 Grade Girls: Tuesdays, Jan. 18 - March 1

                     3-4 Grade Boys: Wednesdays, Jan. 19 - March 2

                     5th Grade Girls & Boys: Thursdays, Jan. 20 - March 3

    Tot-letics: Soccer

    Tot-letics introduces boys and girls, aged 3 to 5, to the sport of soccer in a noncompetitive and fun-filled environment. Our age-appropriate drills and games teach young athletes skill development in addition to vital life lessons including leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Covid-19 safety protocols will be in place for this program. Please bring your child(ren) with comfy clothes and tennis shoes, a water bottle and a mask.

    Location: McKinleyville Activity Center/Pierson Park

    Dates: TBD Spring 2022

    Day: Saturday

    Time: 10:00am - 11:00am

    Who: Boys & Girls aged 3-5 years old

      "Fit To Win" Basketball Camp-TBD for 2021

      "Fit to Win" basketball camp is for boys and girls in 3rd to 6th grades.  Each player will have the opportunity to “Achieve Basketball Excellence” through a progression of skills focusing on the “triple threat” (shooting, passing and dribbling).  Participants are asked to bring a snack. A great way to get ready for our Youth Basketball League.

      At the McKinleyville Activity Center, 1705 Gwin Rd., McKinleyville. 9:30am-12pm.

      PeeWee Basketball League - TBD

      Our PeeWee Basketball League offers boys and girls in K-2nd grades a chance to play in a fun recreational basketball league.  We offer a co-ed division for children in Kindergarten (also TK) and a coed division for children in 1st-2nd grades.  Games and practices are on Saturdays, the practice is the first half hour followed by a game.  The first practice will take place one evening during the week of April 1-5.  The Registration Deadline is Friday, March  15th. A $15 late fee will apply after March  15th, if space is still available. Sign Up Early!!!

      All Star Basketball Camp

      This basketball camp is for boys and girls in K to 2nd grades. Each player will go through a progression of skills focusing on the triple threat: shooting, passing, and dribbling.  Please bring a snack! Space is limited in this great camp that helps warm you up for the Pee Wee Basketball League, so register early!

      Coed Summer Basketball Program --RETURNING IN 2022

      The Summer Basketball program offers youth entering 3rd-8th grades a chance to play basketball games during the busy summer season. Have a vacation planned,and don't want to miss out? No worries, players are not assigned teams. Players are divided into teams each game night and play a game with referee and scorekeeper. No practices just games.
